A couple of years before COVID, a legal firm based in Beverly Hills reached out to us while we were working on exam proctoring to build trust in online learning. The firm wanted to offer more flexibility to its attorneys by allowing them to work from home but was concerned about data security and accountability. We immediately understood their need, as our team was distributed, and we worked with sensitive data—making data security a top priority. This is how the idea of RemoteDesk was born.
We began developing RemoteDesk as a product around 2019, but the technology behind it has been evolving since 2013, when we introduced the world’s first AI-based online proctoring platform for the higher education industry.
The productization of RemoteDesk took longer than anticipated, primarily because our focus remained on solving challenges in the online proctoring space for ed-tech. RemoteDesk required an enterprise-focused approach, not just for the product but also for its rollout and integration services. In 2023, after extensive learning and consideration, RemoteDesk was launched as a new entity, dedicated to creating value for enterprises through focused execution.
